denying mail for unknown (vhost-)users w postfix 0.1 May 31, 2005
Author: HinnerK Rev. 1
I quickly hacked a postfix plugin (out of a nice kolab script from Klaraelvdalens Datakonsult AB - thank you!) to deny mail to unknown vhost-users. otherwise the mail is accepted by postfix, vdeliver recognises it can't be delivered and bounces it. this is bad because in these times most spam mails fakes the sender and the bounces fills the mailqueue.

NOTES

- the script is poorly commented, in fact i didn't add one single comment, all comments are from the original script which checks recipients in a ldap directory

- i didn't worked out a regular expression to support a special postfix feature to use "+" as a recipient seperator (eg. user+ml@domain.com or user+private@domain.com goes to the user@domain.com mailbox)

INSTALL

get the script from download at http://doomicile.de/vhost/

please use http://wiki.doomicile.de/VhostPostfixPluginUnknownRecipient to view or add documentation etc

/etc/postfix/recipient_exists.pl
^ the plugin

/etc/postfix/main.cf:
check_policy_service unix:private/recipient_exists
^ the "recipient_exists" class

/etc/postfix/master.cf:
recipient_exists unix - n n - - spawn user=vhost argv=/usr/bin/perl /etc/postfix/recipient_exists.pl
^ starts the plugin for the "recipient_exists" class

HOW IT WORKS

the plugin looks in /etc/vmail/aliases.$domain for the recipients name or catch-all and in /etc/vmail/vusers.$domain for the recipients name

if it exists the mail will be accepted otherwise denied

the plugin works 100% with vhost, means there is no additional configuration needed if you add a new vhost user or a new vhost domain

V22majordomo 1.2 Dec 30, 2004
Author: Jake Fan Rev. 6
vHost Majordomo module. This module provides two extended commands "vhost --addlist" and "vhost --dellist", allowing Majordomo mailing lists to be added, deleted, and managed on a per virtual host basis. Following are the installation steps:

   0. Download the module (right-click and save as "V22majordomo")
   1. Configure the module (only $majorRoot needs to be changed in most cases)
   2. Move the module into a profile directory ("/etc/vhost.d" is the default profile)
   3. Run command "/usr/sbin/vhost" for syntax (look for "Mailing List: --addlist/--dellist")

Note: the output of command --lsuser now includes information related to mailing lists
